“My experience working at the hair garden over the past 2 1/2 years has been very positive. The initial transition from commission to booth rental was much easier than I expected, and Audrey the owner was very helpful and encouraging through all of it. The overall vibe of the salon is what appealed to me, the decor is beautiful and the energy is always very calming and laid back. And not to mention the owners two dogs Gus and Archie bring so much joy into the space! All the girls here are also more than willing to offer a helping hand, yes we are all technically individual stylists but we all operate as a team. Which is awesome because it’s nice to still feel the “

“When I decided to open The Hair Garden I didn’t realize that one of the most rewarding parts of ownership would be supporting the stylists that rent from me. Most of them have come straight from commission structures and needed some guidance with their transition. I don’t claim to know everything, but I will help where I can, and believe that is the responsibility of ownership to create an environment that feels like a real community. The stylists that work here have supported me and kept the salon running during periods where I was injured and could not be behind the chair. I was so grateful to have stylists I can trust to keep things running smoothly while I step away. Every time we add a new stylist the team has been welcoming and excited to have another member join us. The Hair Garden wouldn’t be what it is without the stylists who have chosen to run their businesses here.”

  • Micaela, Stylist

“Working at The Hair Garden was like a breath of fresh air, coming from a commission salon where I was not valued or seen as a person to then come here and gain autonomy and be able to have the freedom to work and figure things out at my own pace with the guidance of Audrey was the fresh start I needed. This space also has so much potential for each individual stylist to grow and expand their services that one might not be able to do at a commission salon. I know that sometimes booth rental might be scary but doing it in a place where there's individuality that includes a community to help when you have questions is the best place to grow your brand/business.”

  • Jenn, Stylist

Working at The Hair Garden has been such a refreshing change for me. From the moment I started at the end of 2025, the environment has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. There’s a genuine respect here, not just for each other as artists, but for the shared space we work in and the guests who walk through the door. Having a team that uplifts and supports one another makes such a difference, and I’m so grateful to be part of it. Most importantly, my guests feel that energy too—they feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for every time they sit in my chair.”

  • Barb, Styist

“The Hair Garden has a great reputation with a high ranking on google, as-well-as an active presence on social media to help anyone who is trying to build a clientele. The salon itself is beautiful and eclectic, which helps foster creativity, and individuality. 95% of the people that come through the door comment on how lovely and calming the space is. Gus and Archie (Audrey's dogs) help keep the mood light. There are stylists at every stage of their career who are happy to help in any way. A lot of us built from minimal or non-existent clienteles. It's a rental salon with the support of a commission salon. Audrey really loves this salon, and supporting other stylists on whatever hair journey they are on.”
